OutFront says homosexual marriage “imminent” in 2011 legislative session

Thanks to the NOM TV ad, (see below) and local media, the plan to impose homosexual marriage on Minnesota by passing a bill in the state legislature in 2011 is being exposed. A recent article in the Daily Planet reported that Amy Johnson, Executive Director of OutFront, the most powerful GLBT lobbying organization in Minnesota “…says her organization is ready for the battle. ‘Certainly, Minnesota is one of the last battlegrounds," she said in an interview today, where the marriage issue has not been settled with court decisions or state constitutional amendments.

"Johnson was upbeat on the prospects for same-gender marriage in next year's legislative session, though, calling it ‘imminent...if we get a good governor [in the 2010 election], and if we keep a hold of a few seats in the House, we will see equality in 2011.’”

It was also reported that Matt Entenza, one of several DFL gubernatorial candidates all pushing for homosexual marriage said, "Groups like NOM, pushing their agenda, would do well to remember that once upon a time we didn't allow people of different races to marry, either. Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it."

Playing the race card is a favorite trick of those who support redefining marriage. Most African Americans don’t support homosexual marriage however. In fact, Pastor Bob Battle of the COGIC in St. Paul sees it differently. Battle correctly states that homosexual “marriage” and interracial marriage have nothing in common. Allowing a black man to marry a white woman didn’t change the definition of marriage as it remained between a man and a woman. Allowing two men or two women to marry completely changes the nature and purpose of marriage.

Further, there is no civil right to deny children their mothers or fathers, which is exactly what every same-sex marriage does. There is no civil right to conduct a vast, untested social experiment on children.

Mr. Entenza, are you saying that a child doesn’t need a mother or a father?

A child growing up needs love, guidance and purposeful parenting. This can come by in many many ways.

Single mothers or fathers, grandparents, uncles or aunts, siblings, guardians given the responsibilities by wills, and godparents.

Many many wonderful families filled with diversity out there.

There is not ONE way to have a family.

There is NOT one only way to have moral structure.

There are many dozens of strong global religions that are known by billions. That do not reflect your moral grounds or base to how you have made your path in life. Are they wrong? Billions of people that have a different faith? a different path to follow in life?

Your way, the mother, father, sex only after marriage with one person, with no other path, with strict belief that all things in your version of the bible are fact and law and how man in your structure of organized religion is your truth.

NOT BILLIONS OF OTHERS.

Two gay same sex people can certainly be wonderful cherished parents and the world of hope to the world when law out lives your bigotry and narrow minded ways.

Civil rights were opposed by 90% of the "popular" vote on many occasions, thank God that we didn't let that happen, or women wouldn't be voting and slavery would still be legal here. Not to mention segregation and inter racial marriages.

But then again, your version of the bible says that slavery is ok.

and since your bible is law, i guess you would own a slave if allowed.

Thank God its not allowed.

There is no "untested social experiment" on society.

There have been wonderful outcomes from the majority of any family that makes the effort to make a family. A gay Family goes through more than any radical extremist cult like family does.

Your allowed to indoctrinate your children and force them to believe only in your way.

A gay family who adopts have to go through a test to show they are a family set up for care, love and guidance.

The only thing threat in life is that you will not have as much power on your congregation if its legal for Gay familys to be married. When this happens just like the radical churches of the south that used to base their fear on the society that the Black man was the evil one, your congregation will fall.

For the end of the natzi has been done, the end of slavery has been done and the equality of women rights have been done, without popular vote.

One day your religious abuse will be take out of society as well!

The purpose of marriage has changed through out history.

It was not a legal sense, it has had changes in how to end one. It had it start as a property ownership as in ownership of the woman. The time of Jesus didn't see marriage, and is a newer effect in society, do your research.

Marriage is now, a legal sense to support and equalize taxes amongst families. Two men married or two women marry would be a great thing to the economy and it has been proven world wide where it is legal.

Your narrow view on what marriage is, is particular to your belief in your religion. Not what society see's it as around the world.

There are many reasons people marry.

It was only to protect the idea of your notion of one man one woman who then reproduce, than women after child bearing years would not be allowed to marry. Your idea is not to have sex before marry, should they though get check to make sure that both can bear children? What then of a miss carriage? If they fail to have children your one and only way, should they then not be allowed to stay married? what those of the mind that do not want to have children? they should not marry?

Your stance in narrow and only stands against one part of society which is the gay society. That is bigotry. It is by definition of what bigotry means.

look towards the religious right and divorce, look towards how the so claimed religious right has the highest % of abortions. Look towards the politically right to how they donate and volunteer the least in society compared to the social and political middle and left.

Finally Battle is wrong, this is exactly like the civil rights fights of past. It changes nothing for those who are married already.

Let your church not allow for a religious ceremony to be preformed for a same sex couple, do not oppress society with your personal religious view on law.

My marriage is only weakened by the fact that equal rights are not in force.

It will be stronger when Same Sex families and couples are legally allowed the same rights.

Top Ten Signs You're a Fundamentalist Christian

10 - You vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of yours.

9 - You feel insulted and "dehumanized" when scientists say that people evolved from other life forms, but you have no problem with the Biblical claim that we were created from dirt.

8 - You laugh at polytheists, but you have no problem believing in a Triune God.

7 - Your face turns purple when you hear of the "atrocities" attributed to Allah, but you don't even flinch when hearing about how God/Jehovah slaughtered all the babies of Egypt in "Exodus" and ordered the elimination of entire ethnic groups in "Joshua" including women, children, and trees!

6 - You laugh at Hindu beliefs that deify humans, and Greek claims about gods sleeping with women, but you have no problem believing that the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, who then gave birth to a man-god who got killed, came back to life and then ascended into the sky.

5 - You are willing to spend your life looking for little loopholes in the scientifically established age of Earth (few billion years), but you find nothing wrong with believing dates recorded by Bronze Age tribesmen sitting in their tents and guessing that Earth is a few generations old.

4 - You believe that the entire population of this planet with the exception of those who share your beliefs -- though excluding those in all rival sects - will spend Eternity in an infinite Hell of Suffering. And yet consider your religion the most "tolerant" and "loving."

3 - While modern science, history, geology, biology, and physics have failed to convince you otherwise, some idiot rolling around on the floor speaking in "tongues" may be all the evidence you need to "prove" Christianity.

2 - You define 0.01% as a "high success rate" when it comes to answered prayers. You consider that to be evidence that prayer works. And you think that the remaining 99.99% FAILURE was simply the will of God.

1 - You actually know a lot less than many atheists and agnostics do about the Bible, Christianity, and church history - but still call yourself a Christian.
