Bullying is an opportunity to demonstrate Christ's truth and love in our public schools

The recent effort to pass anti-bullying legislation is a trap designed to indoctrinate school children to accept same-sex marriage and unhealthy sexual behavior - all under the guise of anti-bullying.

The trap ingeniously creates the false impression that those who oppose anti-bullying legislation (namely Christians) are themselves homophobic bullies.

Nonsense.

In fact, Christ provided us with the best example of handling bullies without condoning unhealthy sexual behavior - and Christian children should be demonstrating that example in their public schools.

In John 8:3, Jesus was confronted by the Pharisees regarding a woman caught in the act of adultery. Under Mosaic Law she, (and the man) should have been stoned.

Jesus understood this to be a trap. If he said the woman should not be stoned they would accuse him of violating Moses’ law. If he urged them to execute her, they would report him to the Romans, who did not permit the Jews to carry our their own executions.

Jesus’ responded “If any one of you is without sin let him be the first to throw a stone at her.” Upon hearing this, they began to go away, one at a time, the older ones first.

Then he said, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” No one she answered. “Then neither do I condemn you. Go now and leave your life of sin.”

Christ stopped the bullies by exposing their sin, and then told the woman to leave her own life of sin.

This is how we should defeat bullying – and address unhealthy sexual behavior.

When Christian children witness the bullying of their GLBT classmates they should demonstrate Christ’s example by standing up to the bullies. Bullying is a form of judgment and it is God’s role to judge, not ours.

However, they also need to take the next step and build a relationship that allows them to share the truth of God’s plan for family, sexuality and marriage.

Clearly, Christ’s example of defending the adulterous woman teaches us that defending a GLBT classmate from bullies is not condoning GLBT behavior. But more importantly, it demonstrates to the world that we can love someone while disagreeing with his or her sexual behavior.

the only indoctrinating that is being done is being done by the extremists like the MFC. You are under the Idea that we all must follow Christain laws.

You are a Christain, in the world that is a minority.

This anti bully law only indicates that it is wrong to bully someone because they are gay. What you think of gay people is your own choice. It is a hate crime to bash someone, and in many many many cases kill that person, which has been done and by CHRISTAINS! because they are gay!

It is Normal by all GAY people to be GAY. it is normal by MILLIONS of people of DIFFERENT faiths to be gay. It is your own issue and or right even to think otherwise. No indoctrine at all.

Please Do not clump all christains, into your fold. I am a christain, I do not agree with anything the MFC stands for. The MFC is anti-christ in all ways. I Pray for the souls of the MFC everyday, for the sins You make. Your bible is not the only bible, your words you follow are not law. They are indeed opion, and a choice. I am a christain by choice. I support Gay people at every turn, as I even support your extremist disturbing thoughts and ways.

I'm glad to see no one objects to bringing Christianity into our public schools.

your words chuck.

Stop trying to form laws that condemn people to equal rights.

When you try to form laws that follow only your religion, it is a form of judgement.

Stop harrassing the Gays and move on. Its not unhealthy to you, its not a sin if you dont do it.

So therefore move on, let gay people marry each other, let them live in their "sins" and stop the judgements. For its for God to come down and strike the ones he needs to correct?

And chuck, if God is going to strike soon, I would not stand near any large poles or stand in water, since your going to be the first one to strike.

Mom,

Clearly, your comments resemble the crackpots who use God to justify the recent murders of Tiller and Pvt. W. Long.

Perhaps you were the person that threatened 350 pastors, including Arch Bishop Flynn, with a bomb threat at our Pastors' Summit in 2005.

If you want to be taken seriously, I encourage you to refrain from name calling and veiled death threats.

Thank you chuck for speaking the truth in love. Truly you are the only one who reads your bible and who has a pesonal relationship with Jesus Christ and God the Father by the power of the Holy Spirit. It is impossible to have a true relationship with Jesus Christ and continue on in a sinful lifestyle of promote the sinful lifestyle of another because when the Spirt of Truth lives in you he will lead you into all truth, he will not speak on his own, but only what he hears the Father in heaven say. People today even those who claim to be christians are so deceived. They believe that is you are telling others a truth that is not nice, fluffy, or comfortable then you are being hateful. Read your bible people Jesuse was not always meek and mild, he was passionate about the truth and many were offended by him because he made them look at their sinful lifestyles and the people didn't want to hear it because they loved their sin. Trust me, I know this first-hand. I was an alcoholic/addict who loved my sin. I indulged in it, but someone loved me enough to hurt and offend me by telling me that my sinful lifestyle was leading me straight to hell. It is love that motivates Christians to speak the truth that if you indulge in a homosexual lifestyle and your heart is hardened and you refuse to repent that you will spend eternity in hell apart from God. These are not man's commands they are God's who is holy. We must be holy as He is holy. I also believe prayer should never have been taken out of schools, that's when we began to see trouble in our schools. Coincidence? I think not!!

it was a radical christain, very much like the members at MFC that Killed.

Its the extremists that we all need to be fearful of.

Its like the people of the mfc, radicals, extremists, that create, born, and fear the public into such sinful acts.

I am a christain, I love, and accept all people, and I do not judge because that is what the bible teaches you. I assist. I lend a hand, I do not colonize or abdupt minds, I do not inslave as the radicals do to the innocent.

I do not treat. I pray for your souls.

Its the lifestyle that you have made choice in, to be dictating that all others must live within or else nothing is given. That is the sin here.

Again, I will pray for soul Chuck, for you to see what a bully you are, that you are indeed trying to control others, to dictate the law to the letter of your religion. I will now add Michelle to the list, for I feel she will see the hate that she is producing.

I will pray for the souls the radicals took out of this world.

I will pray that the radicals will not win, and that peace, and living next door to a muslim, a lesbian, a christain traditionalist, and a budist as I do on this block of mine all sharing stories, all sharing lives, will one day be a reflection of your life as well.

I am the Christain traditionalist. I am an example of the truth that Jesus does actually live without hate.

I am only example'ing that if you think that god judges the way you say he does, then by all means stand out of ligthing strikes since you are going to be the first to be struck.

I do not have that opinon.

I think that God loves. that God even acepts you the radical extrremist that doesn't love and is a bigot.

Unknown said...

I have no issue saying you should be struck by lighting.

You are sin, you are evil, you are a bigot, and Jesus said all things, that proves you are evil so even in your own religion, you should be struck down and damned to hell.

then again, that is only in the words of your religion. in minne, even your own words are to be heard.

its your own religion that is damning.

I think we've heard enough from Bob and Mom. Each believes veiled death threats are justified when a person or group violates their religious beliefs.

A Google search of the murders of Tiller and Long reveals that the alleged killers justified murder for the similar reasons.

I don't enjoy moderating comments on this blog. However, when cowards make veiled threats then we are forced to filter their comments. Bob and Mom have gone too far.

Does anyone know if Park Nicollet has a policy regarding threats on company time?

I never sent a treat, I will pray for everyone here and not comment again.

I just have opinions

I will not come back again.

I will always think that it was chuck that causes for treaths. My opinons reflected his comments.

again I will pray for the souls of everyone.

I will never think that chuck has a well wish in any of his bones, but if you feel that I have made cause for personal harm, i appologize.

i hope you all find peace. I do not think that the way you preform brings peace, but just stirs up hate. I hope you think of that.

I wont come back to your site. Good luck.

I feel you bully'ed two people from commenting. I feel they just mimiced the same words as chuck did, almost word for word. Did you ask chuck not to comment or blog here any more?

Minnesota Family Council said...

Elaine,

We don't allow threats on this blog. Mom and Bob made threats such as "you should be struck down (by lightning) and damned to hell." Clearly, veiled death threats are not approprate.

Do you endorse these threats?

Unknown said...

lines like you should be damned to hell, is an opinon, That person can not condemn a man, Only god.

To say tht you should be struck down if you do this or that, again by god, that is an opinon.

If one says I am going to do this or that TO YOU then that is a threat.

I do not endorse the idea of being struck down by God, or to be condemned by God because I do not believe you can be struck down by God or Condemned by God. I feel that only ones actions is damning, and its one personal choice to do what they feel is right for them, as long as they never force another to do the same.

I feel, in my own humble opinion, in all that I have read, that the comments from Chuck were as judgemental, and "condemning".

I do not see you asking for his appologies.

I also for the record do not endorse any act of force, or violence. I believe in peace.

I read through all of these and it seems like Chuck did exactly the same thing and he was never asked to stop.

Do you endorse the opinion that your followers are always correct and that only the oposed view is a a threat?

DAVID LETTERMAN'S HATE, ETC. !

David Letterman's hate is as old as some ancient Hebrew prophets.
Speaking of anti-Semitism, it's Jerry Falwell and other fundy leaders who've gleefully predicted that in the future EVERY nation will be against Israel (an international first?) and that TWO-THIRDS of all Jews will be killed, right?
Wrong! It's the ancient Hebrew prophet Zechariah who predicted all this in the 13th and 14th chapters of his book! The last prophet, Malachi, explains the reason for this future Holocaust that'll outdo even Hitler's by stating that "Judah hath dealt treacherously" and "the Lord will cut off the man that doeth this" and asks "Why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother?"
Haven't evangelicals generally been the best friends of Israel and persons perceived to be Jewish? Then please explain the recent filthy, hate-filled, back-stabbing tirades by David Letterman (and Sandra Bernhard and Kathy Griffin) against a leading evangelical named Sarah Palin, and explain why most Jewish leaders have seemingly condoned Palin's continuing "crucifixion"!
While David, Sandra, and Kathy are tragically turning comedy into tragedy, they are also helping to speed up and fulfill the Final Holocaust a la Zechariah and Malachi, thus helping to make the Bible even more believable!

The truth about bullies is that they don't pick a target based on sexual orientation, or color, or religion... they pick a kid who 'broadcasts' certian signals through a set of personality traits. And passing laws and policies outlawing bullying is a total waste of time. Its the job of a parent (or guardian) to prepare their kids to face the conflicts they will encounter in the world, and there's a program called "The Total Bully Solution" that does exactly that. I'll tell you from personal experience- if you think teachers or administratiors or police or lawmakers will fix your kid's bullying problems, think again. I got the totalbullysolution and my son's situation improved in about 2 weeks.

I do believe that the bullies start at home. Bigotry is learned. Hate is learned. Forced behavior, and colonizing thoughts, are all learned.

When the act of hate has been made though, and the law has been broken, than equality is to be taken. One act of hate is not any better or worse than the other. Any pointing out of differences is wrong.

The people that dont want the words orientation added, have the argument that its behavior and behavior shouldn't be covered by law, when indeed their behavior is. For Religon is a Behavior. Its a lifestyle. Not a concret, item or thing. It is not a fact. It is a belief, a thought, an action.

That is the fight here.

For their bigotry is showing through as it is the base of their behavior.

Power and greed is the backing to the radical religious right.

That is an opinion that is following throughout the world.
